  1. Expanding on the topic of diversity, I also meant to point out the Star Wars Trilogies. The antagonists of the original trilogy were a wide eyed farm boy looking for adventure, a wise old mystic, a crusty skeptical scoundrel, and an optimistic bureaucrat. In the latest move (The Force Awakens), you add a girl with a mysterious past trying to find out about it, and a young man with a known past trying to escape from it. All of these are vastly different characters.

Then there’s the Prequel Trilogy, which almost everyone agrees were disappointing. The main characters in that are: Obi Wan – a tough, determined Jedi Master, Mace Windu – a tough, determined Jedi Master, Yoda – a tough, determined Jedi Master, Qui-Gon – a tough, determined Jedi Master, and Anakin – a tough, determined Jedi Master who whines. Even Palpatine is essentially an evil, tough, determined Jedi Master and Padme is a tough, determined politician.

So yes, I do believe that diversity is important.
